paleo thai red curry

i love to search the interwebs for recipes and i like to be diverse in my quest, checking vegan, vegetarian and paleo blogs on the hunt for a delicious recipe that will strike my fancy. mr. brown sugar and i are decidedly omnivores and tasty food knows no bounds.

creamy bulgur wheat in coconut milk

bulgur wheat is a whole wheat grain that has been cracked and partially pre-cooked. as a whole grain, it is a naturally high-fiber, low-fat, low-calorie vegetarian and vegan food ingredient.

when you cook it with some coconut milk, a cinnamon stick, a little honey or organic cane sugar and a splash of good vanilla extract you get a creamy, lightly coconuty breakfast. add in some thinly sliced almonds for a little crunch and i think this is one helluva start to your day!

green curry coconut pork

the clouds started rolling in yesterday, bringing with them promises of rain and much cooler weather.

fall is here. a change in the weather, a change in the leaves on the trees and a new season full of possibilities. this year, as always, i welcomed the arrival of fall with open arms and i like to usher in the new season with slow-cooking meals.  now that i am (temporarily + very happily) unemployed, i am in no rush to get dinner on the table.
