grab your eating pants, folks, because the big day is almost here!
i just finally pulled the trigger and set the menu for thanksgiving but i'm having a hard time deciding on what to bake for dessert. for dinner we will be having- honey and thyme brined turkey breast. au gratin potatoes with local pedrozo cheese, gruyere and thyme. brussel sprouts with bacon and a drizzle of local pomegranate balsamic vinegar. sourdough stuffing with sage, apples and local llano seco pork sausage.
it is always hardest for me to choose what to make for the finale. dessert is the finishing touch, the sweet little flourish or ta-dah! at the end of a delicious meal shared with family and friends and i want it to be that one last amazing little treat that people think about until next year's big day.
so many choices, so little time, so little room in my belly.
you're definitely going to need those forgiving yoga pants if you plan on having any of these to top off your turkey day eating extravaganza (please eat responsibly)...
pumpkin cake with caramel cream cheese frosting bon appetit
pecan, bourbon and butterscotch bread pudding bon appetit
pumpkin pie bars joy the baker
pumpkin pie pop tarts with maple glaze joy the baker

pumpkin-chocolate tiramisu martha stewart
whatever ends up on your table on thursday, whether that be turkey or tofurkey, i hope that you are able to enjoy your time with your loved ones, count your blessings and share with one another what you are thankful for.
gobble, gobble!
